- Start by looking for a sewer cap or a clean out cap in the front yard. Make sure to look under and behind bushes that are close to the walls of the house.
- Next, look on the sides of the house particularly where the bathroom are.
- Lastly, look inside the house near or behind the toilets. This is rare but some houses have the clean out inside.
Knowing where the sewer clean out is before you have a main line stoppage is highly recommended. Even if you do not intend to clear it yourself, a plumber will want to know if you have one and where it is.
