Replacing a Bathtub/Shower Spout

From , former About.com Guide

There are many reasons to replace a tub spout. Maybe the current spout is faded or the finish is peeling off. Or maybe you think it looks dated and are just plain sick of seeing it.

Mostly commonly though, tub spouts are replaced due to a malfunctioning shower diverter. Unfortunately, these can't be repaired. The only choice is to replace the whole spout.

Start by removing any old caulk that is around the spout. Use a utility knife or razor bladed to cut it away from the wall.
