Capping A Water Pipe
Capping a water pipe
Aaron Stickley
Capping a water pipe is often necessary during a kitchen or bathroom renovation. When replacing cabinets you may find that the pipes come through the back or bottom of a cabinet. The only way to remove the cabinet is to cut it or to cut the pipes.

Since capping a water pipe can be quick and easy I often prefer to cut the pipes and then lift the cabinet out of the way. Using a cap to temporarily seal the pipe allows the water to rest of the house to be turned on during the installation of the new cabinets.
