Bad Kitchen Sink Plumbing

Have you taken a look under your kitchen sink lately? If it looks anything like this your kitchen sink plumbing could use some attention.

Three main problems here can really cause damage if they result in a major leak.

1. Leaking basket strainer - both basket strainers show signs of a leak (see the water stains). These can be changed fairly easily to avoid a major leak down the road.
2. Leaking tailpiece - the tailpiece on the right is also leaking.
3. Macgyvered P-trap - expandable fittings have their uses but making a homemade p-trap is not one of them.
