Why Check Water Pressure?

By November 10, 2012

Have you checked your water pressure lately? Most people are quick to find the cause of low water pressure because it is obvious and can be inconvenient. But what about high water pressure? It isn't so easy to recognize when the water pressure in the home is too high so you have to actively test for it.

A simple water pressure gauge is inexpensive and easy to use so there really is no excuse for not testing your water pressure. Having too much water pressure can do harm to basically all of the plumbing fixtures, and can cause blowouts in flex lines or washing machine hoses which in turn can cause flood damage to the house. So, just to be safe check the pressure at least two or three times per year.
