With the holidays in full swing you probably have more than enough on your to-do list, but consider adding a few plumbing maintenance chores to your schedule. The last thing anyone needs is a plumbing emergency when the house is full of holiday guests. Plus, if you take care of a few plumbing chores now you'll have less to do in the new year.
When you are really short on time you can focus on the toilet and the kitchen sink. Those two plumbing fixtures get the most use.
If you can manage to schedule a few plumbing maintenance chores every few months throughout the year you can avoid many of the worst plumbing emergencies.

Roto-Rooter, was recently involved with Metropolitan Utilities District (MUD) project with the City of Omaha. MUD was doing part of the storm sewer work and the sewer separation, and also putting in new high pressure gas lines.
Our job was to videotape underground to make sure MUD did not hit any gas lines during this project.
At one of our client’s homes, the Roto-Rooter plumber unfortunately was unable to place our video camera in because the sewer line seemed to be broken under the client’s floor. We had to break the floor to repair the sewer line first, and then use our video camera.
As we started removing the flooring, the whole floor fell in, leaving a large hole in the client’s kitchen. Apparently, water had backed up under the home, and just had taken some of the dirt out whenever we had a big rainstorm.
Our client had to be out of her home for two weeks in order for Roto-Rooter to repair the sewer line and her floor, yet she was assured the job would be done right.
This was a rather large, complex plumbing job; however seeing our client happy was worth all the work.
