I often hear people tell me that they wish they could do some of their own plumbing and household repairs but they just don't know how. Often they don't even know where to start or what they need to learn.
To help empower anyone who wants to become a do-it-yourselfer I've put together a short list to get start with.
- Learn some basic safety guidelines.
- Get a basic set of tools.
- Look up some step-by-step guides, tutorials, articles, and videos on About.com.
- Pick an easy project and just try it.
Once you complete your first simple project you can progress to more challenging DIY projects. You will learn a little more with every new project and before you know it you will be telling others how easy it is.
