Diamonds, a Faucet's Best Friend

Delta, a long trusted name in plumbing fixtures, has released a new line of faucets that they say last 10 times longer than the current industry standard.

The secret to this durability is a diamond sealed valve. If you’re thinking diamonds like in a pawn shop, you’re off base. Delta has developed a system that mimics the natural process for diamond development. Carbon, the main element in diamonds, is electrically charged and put under extreme amounts of pressure. This fuses the carbon onto a ceramic plate, creating a clear and indestructible coating.

Why diamond? Traditional ceramic-on-ceramic valves depend on grease to create a fiction-free surface. Eventually, the grease wears away, creating friction and a harder to use handle. Diamond-on-ceramic does not require grease. It is a naturally friction-free surface. This helps ensure a longer life for the faucets.
